Mylo Xyloto

So I traveled all throughout Seoul tonight, but it was worth it. The album Mylo Xyloto, the fifth from Coldplay, sounds purely amazing. It is a concept album, which I believe are some of the most interesting pieces of music I’ve ever heard. This album, according to Coldplay, is about a love story where two protagonists, Mylo and Xyloto, meet each other through a gang and fall in love. Oddly enough when you listen to the music-in my opinion-one feels the mood of lovers escaping darkness, isolationism and running towards light at the end of the tunnel. Every song I have throughly enjoyed, this album goes by quick and you don’t even realize it. Coldplay is the only band that I have actually went out of my way to purchase and spend money on, and I have never been disappointed.

How I Found My Seoul

A dear friend of mine told me to use this as my theme. As much as I like this title, I’m not entirely sure I want this metaphorical statement to define what I am searching for, at least not for now. I would like to believe that I have a handle on the situation, but then again not everyone is perfect.

On a much lighter topic, I have decided to post about my experiences in Seoul, South Korea. I have been here for almost two months and I am having the time of my life. It seems that this is truly what I have been wanting in my life, and it’s a wonderful feeling to experience such a rare opportunity. To travel and live in another part of the world, I believe, is an extraordinary learning experience and an uncommon maturity for the traveler. I am currently an English teacher working for YBM Education. Right now I am working on being familiar with the books, the syllabus, the teachers I work with and of course the students. My friends, these are some of the most beautiful kids I have ever known, I feel honored to be their teacher.

A remarkable bonus with this job is working with people from all over the world. In just a month I have met some amazing human beings all the way from Dublin and Canada to Seattle. I am fortunate enough to say that I have met some incredible people who have made an impact on my life in just a months time. The food here is amazing. There are many restaurants here that would satisfy anyone’s taste, and I’m picky. The chicken made here is wonderful, I can honestly admit that I could eat Frypan chicken every day and not ever lose interest. The Korean cuisine is mostly based on tofu, noodles, rice, vegetables and meats. It is nice to walk into a restaurant, take off your shoes and sit on a floor while having a Korean dinner. The best memories you can have is eating and sharing food with your friends, particularly a favorite of mine.

Here are a few of the many pictures I have taken while living here.

Something Different

This is my first post on my new blog. I am hoping this will be a better way for me to communicate, also to discover and use few of the many resources available to us from the internet. Basically, I’m looking for something worthwhile to do as a hobby instead of wasting my life stalking friends on facebook. Hope this will be a fresh start.
